It has been a little while since our last update…<\/p>\n

It is looking like we may finally have kicked winter out the door; spring has been showing it’s face for the last few days. Fingers crossed!<\/p>\n

Was hoping to get some spring projects rolling sooner, but between Liam’s senior year (so much to do) and a nasty respiratory infection we decided to just take it a bit slower.<\/p>\n

One of our spring projects will be some restoration and or re-sculpting of some of the 40mm figures. No set plan in place. For the most part it will be a question of what looks easy and do-able in a short-ish period of time. About the only plan I have is to focus on the figures usable for the Boxer Rebellion. We started with the Chinese Soldiers a few years back and now want to focus, a bit, on the other figures. The good news is that a fair number of these figures should not require a lot of work to get back into production and there may well be a few more to add to the list.<\/p>\n

Soldiers of the Boxer Rebellion and Other Asiatic Campaigns<\/strong><\/p>\n

From the 1880’s up until World War I, there was a lot of colonial action in the Far East. We now offer you soldiers and native warriors from this highly interesting period.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

The Boxer Rebellion in particular is of interest to the Toy Soldier collector because it features European troops from many nations. You’ll find many attractive “display sets’ can be made from our popular 40mm scale models of this period.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Please note: We relied heavily on Lynn Bodin’s book “The Boxer Rebellion’ (from the Osprey Men at Arms series) for uniform data, and suggest you purchase a copy of this fine book for background of the fighting and for the uniform information. Many of our 40mm British Colonial soldiers listed elsewhere (such as officers and artillerymen) can be used in campaigns in Asia<\/em><\/p>\n

Boxer Rebellion Chinese Soldiers
\n<\/strong>These figures are dressed in native costume, not regular uniforms. Therefore, they can be used as Chinese Boxers, or as many other Asiatic warriors such as “Black Flag Pirates’ (in Indo-China), Moro’s in the Philippines and Malay Reiver Pirates<\/em>.<\/p>\n
